With the holidays fast approaching finding a perfect gift for the homesteader, gardener, or farmer on your list may seem like a daunting task. I’m here to make it a little easier on you with this helpful guide to homesteader gifts.
Most homesteaders prefer useful or practical gifts over nicknacks or things that just clutter up the homestead. I know I sure do! It’s not unusual for the farm kids to give me seeds or gardening tools off my wishlist which if you know me at all you know that’s a way to my heart.
I’ve put together this gift guide with all types of homesteaders in mind and I included some of my favorite things to use around our homestead.
Gifts for the Homestead Garden
Hod – these are great for harvesting and all the dry dirt just falls thru so little mess to clean up in the bottom plus you can spray off your veggies right in the basket.
Pruners– You can never have enough of these and a good pair is worth the price.
Hori Hori Knife– This is on my list of things I really want this year.

Harvesting apron– My sweet husband got me the Roo last year and I love it and having both my hands to harvest instead of my normal one hand holding my shirttail.
Garden tool belt– This has quickly become my must-have daily gardening tool. It holds my tie string for tying up plants typically unruly tomatoes! Plus my pruners and marker and a pair of scissors.
Gardening Gloves– my favorite pair of these for picking okra….I get all itchy if I touch the plants a lot. Plus they are waterproof.
Homesteader Clothing Gifts
Farm Shirts with cute designs or sayings. (Pictures will take you to where you can purchase them).
Hoodies– because one can never have too many hoodies around the homestead or farm!
Muck boots– Warm dry feet are a must on any homestead.
Around the Homestead Gifts
Books or Magazine subs– Winter is the perfect time to do some reading and learning new skills for your homestead. These are some of my favorites along with some of my wishlist.
Fermenting Kit– I have just started playing with fermenting. I have this kit so far its been good.
Beeswax Wraps– We are trying to convert over to all reusable things for storing food. I really like these to wrap our sandwiches in when we’ll be on the go or just storing it in the fridge.

Cheese Making Kit – Who doesn’t love tasty, gooey cheese? Let your friend try their hand at making their own fresh cheese with this easy kit!
